The following message was sent from Jennifer Milligan, executive director of the Manlius Library and Heather Matzel, executive director of the Fayetteville Free Library in regard to both facilities closing effective 9 p.m. March 16
Given the first diagnosed case of COVID-19 in Onondaga County, guidance from the New York Library Association, and the Governor’s announcement requesting businesses close, the Fayetteville and Manlius Libraries will be closing at 9:00 pm on Monday, March 16, until further notice. We ask that patrons not return items as our book return will be closed. All items will have their due dates extended and will not incur late fines. Our online resources will still be available and we encourage you to use them. We will also continue to post updates to our social media pages and our website.
As librarians, we are driven to serve. Unfortunately, during these unprecedented times, the greatest service we may be able to offer to our community is to close our doors temporarily. This is the most difficult decision that we have made as directors, and we wish you all wellness and good reads.
