Rifle: On Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, at 0900, three rifle shooters met at our range to fire the regular weekly rifle match. The temperature was 37 and 88% humidity with gray overcast skies and no wind. It was 40 with 77% humidity by the end. Course of fire is 10 shots slow fire prone, 10 shots rapid fire prone, 10 shots slow fire standing.
The following fired rifles that are used in the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) course of fire and are in the medal score category: High Score was Dave Spearing. He had a CMP gold medal score. He fired a .30-40 Krag, US M1898 and scored 95-1X+97-3X’s+88=280-4X’s.
The following fired other rifles with open sights: High Score was Joe Dwyer. He fired a .22 cal. rimfire and scored 93-2X’s+95-1X+67=255-3X’s.
The following fired other rifles with scopes: High Score was Chuck Cargile. He fired a .17 cal. Hornet with a scope and scored 96-6X’s+98-2X’s+69=266-8X’s.
After the match, three went to the excellent Willow Glen Café for beverages. Dick Cyphers joined us for drinks. Lynn served drinks and Dick Cyphers paid the tab; every one thanked them both.
Rifle: On Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, at 0900, four rifle shooters met at our range to fire the regular weekly rifle match. The temperature was 22 and 85% humidity with light gray overcast skies and no wind. It was 31 with 67% humidity by the end. Course of fire is 10 shots slow fire prone, 10 shots rapid fire prone, 10 shots slow fire standing.
The following fired rifles that are used in the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) course of fire and are in the medal score category:
High Score was Dave Spearing he fired a 7.7X58 Type 99 Arisaka and scored 85+74+73=232. Mike Gentile fired a .30 cal. M1 Garand and scored 82+61+30=206.
The following fired other rifles with open sights: High Score was Chuck Chernoff, who fired a .22 cal. Rimfire and scored 98-2X’s+93-1X+86=277-3X’s. Mark Walker fired a .223 cal. and scored 94+90-3X’s+64-1X=248-4X’s.
After the match, four went to the excellent Willow Glen Café for beverages. Stacy served drinks and Mike Gentile paid the tab, every one thanked them both.

The temperature was 38 and 100% humidity with gray overcast skies, rain and fog, but no wind. It was 40 with 100% humidity by the end. Course of fire is 10 shots slow fire prone, 10 shots rapid fire prone, 10 shots slow fire standing.
No one fired rifles that are used in the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) course of fire and are in the medal score category. The following fired other rifles with open sights: High Score was Dave Spearing who fired a .223 cal. Rock River and scored 98-4X’s+100-1X+90-2X’s=288-7X’s. Chuck Chernoff fired a .22 cal. rimfire and scored 85+84-1X+75=244-1X.
After the match, two went to the excellent Willow Glen Café for beverages. Lynn served drinks and Dave Spearing paid the tab, every one thanked them both.
