Master Class Series presents climate change discussion
On Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. the Master Class Series at St. James’ will present the program, Climate Change – A Discussion for Central New York at St. James’ Church Parish Hall at 96 E. Genesee St., Skaneateles.
The Skaneateles Lake Association and Sustainable Skaneateles are partnering with Master Class to present this event. The Master Class Series at St. James’ has taken the challenge to create a moderated panel discussion event offering multiple perspectives on climate change.
Specific issues such as harmful algal blooms and the broad topics of fossil fuel use, changing weather patterns and rising sea levels all have climate change as a link.
The panel will include Dr. Charles Driscoll from Syracuse University, Dr. David Barclay, a paleoclimatologist from SUNY-Cortland, Chris Carrick, energy program manager, CNY Regional Planning and Development Board, Christopher Gorman, community and customer management, National Grid and Dr. Brian Leydet, epidemiologist and disease ecologist from SUNY-ESF.
The event will be moderated by Chris Alan Bolt, news director at WAER.
