As part of an on-going program to become more energy efficient, and to support the general public’s efforts to become energy efficient and aware, the Town of DeWitt is presently installing two electric car charging stations at DeWitt Town Hall.
“We want to begin 2018 even more energy efficient than ever,” said DeWitt Supervisor Ed Michalenko. “We’ve received grant funding for two electric car charging stations and we’re in the process of installing those right now … Those charging stations will be available for the public’s use; we’re excited to offer that to the community and happy we could provide it through grant funding from NYSERDA.”
NYSERDA is the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. The town has also submitted a grant request to acquire two Chevy Bolt electric cars and a third charging station for use by the Planning and Zoning department.
The two newly acquired charging stations, each with two charging units, will be located at the Town Hall parking lot on Butternut Drive and available for use by the general public.
