To the editor:
Kristi Andersen is a candidate for re-election to the Cazenovia Town Board. First elected to the board in 2005, she has served the community well since then and, fortunately, is an enthusiastic candidate for another term.
During her tenure on the board, she has tackled complex problems including those of Cazenovia Lake, community growth and development, land use and conservation, zoning and farmland protection. She has actively participated in a number of community planning efforts, including the town’s comprehensive plan and sewer district consolidation. She now chairs the committee studying possible consolidation of town and village governments. As a political scientist, she offers valuable insights into the process.
In addition to her years of local government experience, she has served on boards of the Friends of the Library and Cazenovia Library, Cazenovia Forum and CACDA (Cazenovia Area Community Development Association). She is committed to the future of the entire Cazenovia area and recognizes the need for cooperation and collaboration among the surrounding towns, the village, county and community groups.
Kristi recently retired as professor of political science at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School. She is a regular panelist on WCNY’s “Ivory Tower Half Hour.” Kristi is receptive to new ideas and willing to explore various options. She is smart, steady, energetic and an advocate for honest and inclusive government. Her balanced approach to problem solving, excellent communication skills, respect for transparency and differing points of view make her an ideal candidate.
The town board is operating cohesively and productively. Boards function most effectively when constituents are fairly represented. Kristi offers a unique and important perspective.
We urge you to carefully review Kristi’s credentials, consider her experience and impressive accomplishments, and vote for her on November 7. The Cazenovia community needs people with her integrity, character, commitment and remarkable skills who are willing to serve.
