At about 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, local emergency responders responded to a single motor vehicle accident which required the extrication of the single occupant after the vehicle struck a road sign and into several trees in East Syracuse.
DeWitt Police report the vehicle was traveling east on Hartwell Avenue and failed to negotiate a turn at Fly Road. The vehicle struck a road sign, continued off the roadway and into several trees. The single occupant of the vehicle had to be extricated from the vehicle by members of East Syracuse Fire Department and was transported to an area Hospital by EAVES Ambulance.
The driver of the vehicle, who was the sole occupant, sustained minor injuries.
Fly Road and Harwell Avenue were shut down for about one hour following the accident.
Police say the accident is still under investigation.
