Community prayer vigil planned for 9/11
Submitted by Rev. Joellyn Tuttle
United Methodist Church
On Sunday evening, September 11 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. the Sanctuary of the Skaneateles United Methodist Church at 26 Jordan St. will be open to the community for a Peace for our World Prayer Vigil.
As we remember lives lost due to natural disasters, human conflict, accidents and natural causes over the years, we look toward our God for justice, comfort and solace.
We pray that the lives of all people and all of God’s Creation may be held as sacred. Therefore our Sanctuary will be open to members of the Skaneateles area community for personal prayer and reflection to seek and share Christ’s peace amid the violence in our world.
Printed prayers will be provided to help guide your prayer experience. Persons are welcome to stay for the whole hour, or stay as long as you are moved to continue in prayer.
The church building and sanctuary are handicapped accessible. Persons are encouraged to use the municipal lot for parking. For further information contact Rev. Dr. Joellyn Tuttle at the church office 685-5963weekday mornings.
