Holy Family Church announces the start of registration for the new year of Faith Formation with an invitation to participate extended to all families.
In addition to Sunday morning classes for some grades, Faith Formation will now be offered on Monday nights instead of Tuesdays.
There are opportunities for young people of any age.
Grades two, seven and eight will only be offered on Monday nights from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m.
Grades kindergarten, one, three, four, five and six are offered on Sundays from 10 to 11:15 a.m. and Mondays from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m.
Confirmation preparation will continue to be offered on Sunday mornings. Confirmation 1, first year, will be held from 10 to 11:15 a.m. and Confirmation 2 , second year, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Another change for the upcoming Faith Formation year is that for a student who attends parochial high school, it is required that they at least attend the second year of Confirmation, but it is not mandatory that they attend Confirmation 1, although it is highly recommended.
The Faith Formation program assists parents in sharing the beauty and richness of faith. Prayer, study and discussion, as well as service opportunities, all provide a nurturing environment as young people grow in their relationship with their Creator and Savior.
Our young participants come from a variety of local school settings and families. All are welcome.
Registration forms and a calendar of important Faith Formation dates are available in the Gathering Space of Holy Family Church, 124 Chapel Drive, Syracuse, NY 13219 or online at the website: holyfamilysyr.org under the Faith Formation tab. Denise Pedercini, Director of Faith Formation, is available for questions at 3488-5884.
Holy Family Church also offers a Children’s Liturgy during the 8:45 a.m. Sunday Mass with an age appropriate Gospel story, discussion, and craft. The children are called forth during the Mass and return to their parents there.
The Life Teen program meets most Sundays, beginning with a Life Teen Mass at 4 p.m. with contemporary music, followed by a free meal and various spiritual, social, and service events. All high school teens are welcome to join at any time during the year. Questions can be directed to Chris Spilka, youth minister, at 488-5884.
