The following activities are being offered at the Camillus Senior Center 25 ½ First St. Camillus, NY.
Repair Café
Do you have an item that needs repair but don’t know how to do it? Bring it to the Repair Café! Café volunteers work on a variety of items – watches and clocks, small appliances, light fixtures, blade sharpening, fabric and carpentry repairs, broken crockery etc. Saturday, Aug. 6 to 10 to 2 p.m. There is no charge or fee, although donations are appreciated and guests may be asked to pay for parts. Stretch, Strengthen and Balance
Tuesday and Thursdays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.$15 per person per six week session. Next session starts Aug. 2 and runs to Sept. 8. This program includes exercises to accommodate seniors of all ability levels. Strength and balance training exercises are done either in a seated position or standing with a chair.
Ice Cream Social
Join us for an Ice Cream Social following our monthly meeting on Monday, Aug. 1 at 2 p.m. The meeting will review events and other happenings at the center and you can learn about activities offered. Foot Care
Join local podiatrist Dr. Samuel Rameas for a morning discussion on foot care. Nail care, foot wear and special care for those with diabetes will be covered. Tuesday, Aug. 2 from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Free. Call the office to register at 672-5820
Facebook and Social Media
Facebook has taken the world by storm! It’s a great way to technologically connect with family and friends. Don’t know how to use it? Then this class is for you. Teens from the Town Shop will teach you how to navigate Facebook on your tablet or computer. We have a computer for your use at the Senior Center. Wednesday, Aug. 3 from 10:30 to noon, free. Healthy Aging
Join us for a lively discussion on theories about aging and longevity and learn about what the latest research has to say.
We’ll examine ways to maintain your physical and mental health along with useful and practical tips. Some fun brain teasers to test your thinking will be offered. There will be a question and answer period at the end of the presentation.
