Seven members of the McQuaid Jesuit High School crew team are rowing 340 miles on the Erie Canal to raise money for the Row for Hope initiative. Started in 2012, Row for Hope has raised $100,000 for several charities to date. This year’s cause is Kelly for Kids, a foundation started in 1986 by former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly, to serve disadvantaged and disabled youth in Western New York. The boys rowed 10 hours and approximately 45 miles each day. They stopped at Lock 24 in Baldwinsville around 10:45 a.m. June 27 and had lunch at Timber Banks before setting out on the canal once again.
