Voters in the Liverpool Central School District overwhelmingly approved the 2015-16 budget May 19, with 1,230 voting in favor and 449 against.
The $142.7 million budget includes a 1.79 percent increase in the tax levy.
The voters also okayed a $1.3 million bus proposition to continue the district’s bus replacement program by a vote of 1,161 to 472, as well as the Liverpool Public Library’s $3.8 million budget (1,178 yes to 408 no).
Voters also selected four members for the district’s board of education. The three top vote-getters will sit for full three-year terms, effective July 1, 2015, to June 30, 2018. Those candidates are Michael Leone (1,335 votes), Patricia DeBona-Rosier (1,286 votes) and Richard Pento (1,242 votes). Neil Fitzpatrick (1,231 votes) will fill the remainder of Betsy Webb-Bronzetti’s term; Webb-Bronzetti resigned from the board of education in April. Her term is set to expire in June of 2016.
George Mangicaro also ran for the board; with 663 votes, he did not gain enough votes to be elected.
