It’s that time of year again — the time where many people in the community get together to raise money for the American Cancer Society with the annual Relay for Life event. This year, leading up to the Fayetteville-Manlius area Relay there will be a “Wine and Tees” fundraising event on Saturday, May 2, at The Ridge golf course in Chittenango.
The event will include a nine-hole golf tournament with a 3 p.m. tee-off. There will be a wine tasting provided by Cork Monkey at each tee box, said Ben Gnacik, advisor to the F-M area Relay for Life organization group. There will also be contests at various holes throughout the course. Following the tournament, dinner will be served by The Ridge for all participants.
The cost for this tournament is $85, which includes the golf tournament, cart use, wine tasting and dinner. Interested participants must register by April 25 by emailing [email protected] or by calling Ben Gnacik at 272-0958.
All proceeds will go toward the F-M area Relay for Life event, which is being held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, at the F-M High School track.
Relay For Life is a 12-hour community-based fundraising event which benefits the American Cancer Society (ACS). Each year, an estimated 5,000 relay events are held in 20 countries, and this year there are four registered events in Central New York alone. To participate, anyone interested is encouraged to either join a team or become a team captain and start their own.
