Leanne Costello might be just a senior in high school, but she’s already making her mark on the world.
As part of a program called Global Leadership Adventures, this week’s Liverpool High School Senior of the Week has traveled to Ghana to perform volunteer work, including building eco-friendly toilets, and to learn about the culture.
She also volunteers closer to home, serving with the LHS chapter of Becca’s Closet, which provides prom dresses to those who can’t afford them, as well as the Key Club, of which she is vice president, and the Big Buddies program with Liverpool Elementary School.
In addition to her community service, Leanne is active in Ski Club and National Honor Society. She’s earned an academic letter and pin for her achievements, and she’s employed at Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina.
Leanne enjoys skiing, hanging out with friends and family and rollerblading.
Her favorite classes are her tech classes. She aspires to a career in industrial or medical engineering.
Leanne said her parents have served as the greatest influence on her life: “They always push me to do my best and support me in all of my decisions.”
