B’ville reduces sound penalty

Village officials recently reduced a penalty fee imposed upon Hollerback Productions.

The fee was the result of a violation to sound regulations during the Alabama Shakes concert held July 29 on Paper Mill Island. After Dan Mastronardi of Hollerback Productions, which promoted the Alabama Shakes concert, addressed the board with regret regarding the sound issue, officials voted to reduce the penalty from $1,500 to $200. Officials noted that it was never the village’s intention to make money off the promoter but rather show there is a penalty when the licensing agreement is violated.
