A lot of anticipation is in place for Wednesday night’s girls swim meet, where Baldwinsville goes to Camillus and attempts to grab the outright league championship against the West Genesee Wildcats.
Before all of this could happen, though, the Bees still had to navigate through last Thursday night’s meet against Cicero-North Syracuse at Le Moyne College – which it did, spreading the credit around in a 91-80 victory over the Northstars.
Kaitlyn Martin was one of the Bees’ focal points. She started out the meet by teaming with Charis Parker, Allie Connor and Samantha Sidorakis to break two minutes (1:59.33, to be exact) and win the 200 medley relay.
Later on, Martin was strong in the 500 freestyle, prevailing in 5:44.53, and followed it up by going to the 200 freestyle relay, where she, along with Parker, Connor and Elena Margrey, picked up another victory in 1:49.49.
Parker would win her race in the 200 individual medley, where she finished in 2:22.46. Sidorakis joined in by claiming the 100 backstroke in 1:06.64, while Connor, in a clocking of 1:06.08, finished first in the 100 butterfly.
This took place a day after West Genesee beat Oswego 97-79 to stay right with B’ville in the standings. The combination of Parker, Martin, Sidorakis and Connor on one side, with the Wildcats’ Brianna Smith and Olivia Castro on the other, should make for a first-rate meet, regardless of the stakes.
