According to two sources who wish to remain anonymous, an unofficial decision has been made in the site selection for the Northwest Family YMCA.
Earlier this year, YMCA officials had narrowed their choices down to three sites: the Drakes Landing and Route 31 property, which has been highly contested; the property at Smokey Hollow Road Plaza in the village of Baldwinsville; and acreage along the southern edge of Timber Banks. As of Monday, officials had chosen Timber Banks.
The next step is to make sure everything is copasetic with Timber Banks’ officials.
The official decision is expected to be made during the Thursday, Sept. 20, board meeting of the YMCA’s Greater Syracuse Metro Board.
