The victims of Friday night’s fatal pickup truck crash in East Syracuse have been identified as Christina Davis, 36, of 128 N. Main St., Minoa, and Jeffery Hubbard, 34, of 753 James St., Syracuse.
Their identities were confirmed by the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office this afternoon, and both families were then notified, Sheriff’s Deputies said.
Davis was driving a 2006 Dodge pickup south on Fly Road at a high speed when she failed to negotiate the turn onto Hartwell Avenue, witnesses told police.
According to Sheriff’s Deputies, the pickup went off the road, crashed into a fence and became airborne after crashing into a tree. The truck collided with a second tree before coming to rest, at which point Davis and Hubbard, the only passenger, were trapped inside.
Davis was declared dead at the scene, deputies said. Hubbard was taken by ambulance to Upstate University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Members of the Sheriff’s Accident Investigation Team continue to investigate.
