The New York State Fair’s donut burger now has a partner in crime.
“Didn’t get to taste the Big Kahuna Donut Burger last year? Have no fear – this mighty burger will be back again this year, and this time around it has a sidekick, the Big Kahuna Donut Dog,” reads a news release from the New York State Fair.
“This maple glazed long john donut wouldn’t be complete without a hot dog wrapped in bacon inside,” the release continues. “If the idea of the maple glazed long john is too much, you can just get a bacon wrapped hot dog on a regular bun.”
The arrival of the Big Kahuna Donut Dog at the fair, which runs Aug. 23 through Sept. 3, was announced along with a few other soul food inventions — all of them deep fried.
The Tikki Turtle will sell a cheeseburger topped with deep fried mac and cheese instead of sliced cheese, and the Deep Fried Specialties stand will introduce fairgoers to deep fried fluff and banana sandwiches, deep fried brownies, deep fried peanut butter and deep fried jelly beans.
