The Skaneateles Urgent Medical Care center on West Genesee Street has changed its hours of operation for the second time in four months.
Auburn Community Hospital, which owns and operates the Skaneateles urgent care center, recently announced the center’s new hours will be 2 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
The center’s previous hours were 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and holidays, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. These hours were instituted this past March, changing from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week, in response to a system evaluation that determined the longer hours were no longer cost effective, the hospital stated.
The reason for this latest change in hours was not explained by the hospital, and calls and emails to the public relations office seeking explanation went unanswered.
