Sophia Beratta, a 2011 graduate of Marcellus High School, spent the year in Poland through the Rotary International Youth Exchange Student program, which is sponsored by the Marcellus Rotary Club.
She shared highlights of her year in Wroclaw at a recent Marcellus Rotary Club meeting, and explained the significance of the many pins she had collected that decorated her Rotary blazer.
“It was a wonderful experience,” she said.
She ended her year in Poland with the Euro Tour — a Youth Exchange trip to various parts of Europe.
She said she forged friendships with her host families, schoolmates and other Rotary Exchange students.
“I have friends from all over the world now,” she said.
