Work on Minoa Road Bridge just south of the village of Minoa is slated to begin tomorrow, June 22, the Onondaga County Department of Transportation announced.
Travel will be reduced to one lane controlled by temporary traffic signals during the bridge rehabilitation, which DOT officials say will be completed this season. Staged construction will keep the bridge, which runs over the CSX Railroad, open to traffic at all times.
Workers will be removing the existing concrete bridge deck and bearings, pouring new pedestals, sandblasting and painting the existing steel girders, installing new bearings, pouring a new concrete deck and concrete barriers, and doing concrete repair work to the abutments and piers.
DOT officials remind residents driving through the area during construction to slow down, use caution and be mindful of roadside workers and construction vehicles.
