A construction worker died Thursday after falling 30 feet from a Camillus roof, police said.
Harvey J. Seymour III, 46, of Fulton, was placing shingles on the roof of 66 North St. at about 3:05 p.m. when he fell to ground, resulting in a serious head injury, Camillus Police said.
There were two other workers on the site, who were on the other side of the roof and did not see or hear Seymour fall, Sgt. Dan Burlingame told the Post-Standard. No one was inside the house.
When one of the workers went down from the roof to get water he found Seymour on the ground and called 911, Burlingame said.
Seymour was taken to University Hospital in Syracuse where he was listed in critical condition. He was pronounced dead at about 3:50 p.m., police said.
