Baldwinsville’s girls golf team again got to stay close to home for Tuesday’s Section III championship tournament.
Playing at Foxfire at Village Green, the Bees scored 388, finishing fifth overall and fourth among Division I (large school) teams.
Freshman Katie Walsh led B’ville, her 18-hole score of 90 leaving her alone in 11th place. Walsh, along with Rome Free Academy’s Lilly Bulawa, are the two alternates behind the top nine sectional All-Stars that are headed to the June 8-10 state tournament at SUNY-Delhi.
Senior Erin Ganley posted a 93, tying for 18th place, while eighth-grader Marissa Foriero had a 101, just ahead of Emily Pascale, who posted a 102.
Rome Free Academy, with 352, dethroned Fayetteville-Manlius (370) at the top of the team standings and also had the individual winner, Nicolette Darois, who shot an 81, one shot ahead of F-M’s Meghan Kingsley (who had a hole-in-one on Foxfire’s par-three 17th) and Holland Patent’s Rachael Halwig.
