The Sunoco, Subway and car wash planned for the village of Camillus has been approved.
Village board members approved the plan unanimously Monday night. Mayor Patricia Butler was not present, but the board still met the super-majority needed in order to overturn the county’s disapproval of the plan.
The 2,770-square-foot gas station with a convenience store, Subway restaurant and car wash will be built at the corner of Newport Road and Main Street.
The convenience store would run 24 hours a day and seven days a week. The car wash would operate between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., based on noise surveys done in the village and a recommendation from the village’s engineer. The Subway will run from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The current building will be demolished to make room for the new building, which is considerably larger than the current. The current Sunoco has been out of business for seven years.
