On June 1, the Baldwinsville Kiwanis are bringing two tribute bands to Van Buren Park featuring music from Bruce Springsteen and The Beatles. The Jamie Notarthomas band and The Fab Cats will perform during Concert in the Park beginning at 6 p.m.; tickets are $7.50 advance sale, $10 at the door. A first-time event for the park, the concert will be held near the pool.
“This is kind of a test case for the park,” said Supervisor Claude Sykes.
Proceeds will benefit Baldwinsville booster clubs and other youth programs.
On June 4, the 93Q Island Jam event will return at 4 p.m. to Paper Mill Island. Village officials recently discussed the concert at their board meeting. They approved a request for a waiver of the open container law from 4 to 10:30 p.m. and requested the promoter be prepared to clean up where concert-goers wait in line to enter the event. Last year there were some issues with trash in the street because the event was so successful, drawing thousands who waited in line to enter the concert.
