As Empire Brewing Company’s award-winning beer and gastronomic offerings continue to garner attention at the Walton Street location in Syracuse, owner and Cazenovia resident David Katleski is evaluating the possibility of opening a microbrewery in Cazenovia.
“It’s definitely something we would love to do,” Katleski said. “Right now we’re still examining the land, water quality and things like that — but we hope to keep moving forward.”
At this time, the organization has its sights set on a parcel of land on Route 13 in the town of Cazenovia, although no purchase has been made.
Reacting to the prospect of the craft-beer company opening a Cazenovia location, the town and village boards have said they are ready to work with Katleski and residents are anxious for another business offering locally-produced spirits.
At a recent meeting, the village board discussed the possibly annexing the land from the town, once Empire Brewing Company’s future is certain.
