Fireside Inn undergoing renovations
The Fireside Inn in Lysander is temporarily closed to undergo renovations, according to a restaurant representative.
County records show Cole Realty Holdings, owner of the Fireside Inn, hasn’t yet paid $38,564.14 for its 2011 town, county and school taxes. After adding penalties, the total bill due in February for 2011 taxes is $43,810.50. This is in addition to the business’ $37,935.08 tax bill for 2012, which is due Jan. 31.
While the business is behind on its tax bill, it isn’t necessarily closed for this reason.
Betty Nardelli, Lysander’s receiver of taxes, said she didn’t believe the restaurant’s temporary closure was due to the late payment as businesses generally have three years before action is taken.
Pucello’s at Foxfire closes doors
After five years in business, Pucello’s at Foxfire has closed its doors.
James Nobles, owner of Foxfire Golf Course and the building leased by Pucello’s, said he is looking to fill the restaurant and banquet space by the end of January and hopes to have a new business up and running by March.
“It’s a tough business,” Nobles said about the restaurant business, noting the recent closing of Hickory Hills and Fireside’s temporary closure. “[Pucello’s] wasn’t promoted very well.”
Timber Tavern to open
Timber Tree Service owner Stan Dombroski is branching out into new territory.
He and his son, Jonah, have renovated the old Kowalski’s bar on State Fair Boulevard, Van Buren, and plan to open the new Timber Tavern in late February. Look for a grand opening soon.
