Back on the lanes in 2012, the Cicero-North Syracuse and Liverpool bowling teams looked to move up the CNY Counties League standings.
And they met with each other Thursday afternoon at Flamingo Bowl, where the Northstars were the visiting side, but still prevailed 3-0 on the girls side and 2-1 on the boys side.
Liverpool’s Mary Townley shot a 257 high game and 683 series, but none of her teammates broke 400 as Tori Loysen (550 series), Beth Piston (521 series) and Bryce Sabine (475 series) led a more balanced CNS effort. Piston produced a 222 high game.
The closer boys match had a similar situation, as the Warriors’ Alex DiGenero ripped off a 745 series and 276 high game. Yet that could not negate the Northstars seeing Eric Liepke earning a 647 series and 267 game as Jacob Patterson (607 series, 233 high game) and Joe Bodnar (563 series) offered ample support.
In last Tuesday’s match against Baldwinsville at Strike-N-Spare Lanes, the boys Northstars beat the Bees 3-0. Patterson led with a consistent 626 series, while Liepke managed a 612 set. Jake Sabine had a three-game total of 578.
CNS lost on the girls side to B’ville by that same 3-0 margin, though Piston had a 574 series and 222 high game. Tori Loysen added a 484 series as Annie Peterson, with a 599 series, helped B’ville prevail.
