Firmly in place near the top the CNY Counties League standings, the Baldwinsville girls bowling team set out to reinforce that lead in the first days of 2012.
The Bees would shut out Cicero-North Syracuse 3-0 last Tuesday at Strike-N-Spare Lanes. Annie Peterson led the way with a 559 series and 198 high game, while Cassie Blanchard had a 519 set and Elizabeth Blume got a three-game total of 503.
Meanwhile, the B’ville boys lost to CNS by that same 3-0 margin. Sam Sojdak, in defeat, bowled a 648 series with no game higher than 239, while Tyler Watchus had a 621 set. Jacob Patterson led the Northstars with a 626 series.
Two days later, the girls Bees beat the combined Syracuse city entry 3-0, pushed there by Blanchard, who had a 597 series and 243 high game, and Peterson, who added a 542 set.
And the B’ville boys would win, too, edging Syracuse 2-1, which included Matt Neuser rolling 11 consecutive strikes during a 290 game as part of a 723 series. Matt Allen had a 667 series with a 256 game as Tyler Watchus rolled a 262 game in his 626 set. Sojdak had a three-game total of 614.
