After graduating from Baker High School in 2001, Dan Frigolette wasted no time in pursuing his chosen profession. He debuted as a stand-up comic in 2002 as part of Joe DeLion’s Viva Debris, a variety show which toured area nightclubs.
Now Frigolette opens up and down the East Coast for Lisa Lampanelli, she of the raunchy Friars’ Club roasts. Frigolette, who relocated from Central N.Y. to Hoboken, N.J., also performs weekly at the Big Apple’s biggest clubs.
Both Frigolette and Lampanelli attended Syracuse University, although in different decades.
But this Friday, Frigolette joins two other CNY-bred comedians – Jessimae Peluso and Moody McCarthy – performing a show they’ve titled “Ho Ho Ho…HA HA HA?” at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Justin’s Tuscan Grill, 6400 Yorktown Circle, off Carrier Circle in East Syracuse. Admission costs $15; 437-1461.
Peluso graduated from Henninger High School in Syracuse in 2000 and has since appeared on TV’s “Last Comic Standing” and the “Tyra Banks Show.” In October 2010, Peluso headlined a Hometown Humor Tour at the Palace Theater.
McCarthy, a Corcoran High School grad, got his start in 1992 at the original WiseGuys Comedy Club on Erie Boulevard East. He moved to NYC in 1998 and has since been featured on TV’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and “Star Search.”
Last year McCarthy and Frigolette performed a pre-Christmas show at Jazz Central. McCarthy took a satirical view of his alma mater’s mascot and family gift-giving while Frigolette engaged the crowd about the chances of a Jersey guy picking up Manhattan women and a comedian’s lowly place in the hierarchy of show business.
Frigolette’s comedy is drawn from true-to-life stories of his successes and failures and fueled by his hyperkinetic energy.
