A wild and uneven start for the Cicero-North Syracuse ice hockey team continued in Wednesday night’s game against Ontario Bay at the Twin Rinks, where it silenced the Storm in an 11-1 romp.
In two home games, the Northstars have amassed 20 goals, with a 10-5 defeat to Baldwinsville in between. This proved the most lopsided contest yet.
CNS led, 4-0, after one period, and maintained its steady production the rest of the way. For the third game in a row, Eric Hamilton managed a hat trick, finishing with three goals and two assists, but he was far from alone.
Jesse Farabee scored twice and added a pair of assists. Kyler Schilling had a goal and two assists, while Nick Schneid, Tim McMammon, Shawn O’Neil and Zach Sheridan also found the net. Connor Doren had two assists as Dan Rush and Matt Flume joined Schneid and Sheridan with single assists.
Now the Northstars head for a week of road tests. On Tuesday night, CNS will have a key early-season game at Kennedy Arena against last season’s sectional finalists, Rome Free Academy, before going to Colgate’s Starr Rink on Thursday to face Hamilton.
