At a press conference Friday afternoon, Judy Boyke announced that she is seeking a second term as supervisor for the town of Cicero.
The announcement came at a news conference to unveil the construction of a Nice N Easy superstore on Bartel Road in Brewerton. Boyke lauded the development and said it’s exactly the kind of project she has facilitated since taking office in 2010.
“I promised to work to bring economic development and jobs to our town,” Boyke said. “John MacDougall’s decision to bring his store with a new design and the capacity to test new products is a good example of our progress to bring such projects to the town of Cicero.”
Residents of Brewerton have been lobbying for a grocery store in the hamlet for a number of years. Boyke said this will fit the bill.
“I have been committed to changing the face of Brewerton and in particular bringing a new food and grocery outlet to our community,” she said. “This magnificent facility located at the Gateway to Brewerton will provide a state-of-the-art grocery store for residents.”
Boyke, a Democrat, said she will continue her efforts to bring quality economic development to the town of Cicero and she will work diligently to move Brewerton Revitalization project to a successful conclusion.
Councilor Jim Corl announced in May that he is running for supervisor.
