170 people lined up for the annual “Padre’s Pace for the Pantry” 5k run/walk, which took place Sunday Sept. 19 at St. Joseph’s Church in Camillus. This year the run was held in conjunction with the church’s annual Fall Festival. All proceeds from the run and festival go to the church’s food pantry, one of two pantries in the town of Camillus, which provides goods for “dozens of families every week,” said the Rev. Gregory Lestrange. Many runners were members of the church, whose parish is up to around 2,200 people. The race committee attracted competitive runners from across the Greater Syracuse area by advertising through fleetfeet.com and active.com.
