Marcellus voters pass school budget

Voters in Marcellus tonight approved the $30,860,061 2010-11 budget and a 2.49 percent tax levy increase. The budget passed 801 to 607.

A proposition to spend not more than $384,680 on the purchase of four 66-passenger school buses also passed, 721 to 658.

Board of Education president Donald Keegan was re-elected, along with incumbent Kathleen Welch, while newcomer John Fuller replaced Brian McNaney.

The four school board candidates received the following votes:

Kathleen Welch, 962 votes

Donald Keegan, 872 votes

John Fuller, 832 votes

Brian McNaney, 776 votes
