As the hosts of Friday’s Small Schools Meet, the Morrisville-Eaton boys track and field team picked up 83 points to earn third place in a nine-team field, just behind Waterville (84 points) for the runner-up spot. Pulaski won with 94 points.
For the Warriors, Jarred Kent won the 100-meter dash in a meet-record 11.4 seconds, with teammate Ryan Schurise in fifth. Kent followed up by claiming the 200-meter dash in 24 seconds flat as Schurise took sixth. Kent also took fourth in the high jump.
Keenan LeBlanc was second in the 400-meter dash (55.8 seconds) and third in the 400-meter hurdles (1:04.2), with Austin Hirsch recording a second-place mile time of 4:54.2. Alex Marris earned second in the pentathlon with 2,193 points.
Schurise got fourth in the long jump (17 feet 8 inches), just ahead of LeBlanc in fifth. In the triple jump, LeBlanc claimed fourth place with 35 feet 6 1/2 inches, with Fred Cookhouse fifth.
Canastota, who finished fourth in the team standings with 72 points, saw Aaron Walker sweep to wins in the mile in 4:48.6 and the 3,200-meter run in 10:37.4. Zach Szkolnick was third (11:15 flat) in the 3,200.
Nate Trost gave the Raiders a third-place time of 18.0 seconds in the 110-meter high hurdles, and Canastota managed second-place finishes in the 4×100 (47.9 seconds), 4×400 (3:46.6) and 4×800 (9:00.2) relays. C.J. Melander got second place in the 200-meter dash in 24.4 seconds.
