Both of Baldwinsville’s track and field teams would be at home to face Liverpool, since the Warriors still cannot use its own home track. And neither would prevail, the main event coming Wednesday afternoon when the boys Bees could not cope with the Warriors’ distance runners, especially Zavon Watkins, during an 85-56 defeat. Watkins hurt B’ville by winning three times, going 1-2 in the mile with Colin Savage ahead of Nate McCabe (4:26.2), claiming the 800-meter run and helping Liverpool’s 4×400 relay team get a victory in 3:28.8. In response, the Bees did see Rudy Sapp sweep the sprints, going 11.3 seconds to win the 100-meter dash and 23.3 seconds to claim the 200-meter dash. In the 4×100 relay, Sapp, Antonio Peck, Parker Kiff and Alex Nagy had a first-place time of 44.9 seconds. Brian Kane thwarted Watkins in the high jump, tying his season-best clearance of 6 feet 6 inches as Dan Reed (5 feet 10 inches) tied for second. Raeshaun Jones won the discus with a heave of 124 feet 2 inches as Ethan Pacheck, Chris Wicks, Alec Peinkofer and Shaun Thompson teamed to win the 4×800 relay in 8:12.5. On the girls side two days earlier, the Bees lost to Liverpool 89-52. Laura Farleman provided a respite on B’ville’s side, taking the 100-meter hurdles in 16.3 seconds before clearing 5 feet to win the high jump. Gabrielle Jordan earned first place in the 200-meter dash (27.3 seconds) and teamed with Allie Vroman, Gina Carnovale and Paige Corso to prevail in the 4×100 relay in 52.1 seconds. Liverpool got two wins from Armani Moore (100 meters, triple jump) and Tatiana Gladney (shot put, discus), and also dominated the distance races.
