Prior to its annual spring-break trip to Myrtle Beach, the Liverpool baseball team left another reminder as to what it could produce if things are clicking. The Warriors went to DeLutis Field Wednesday afternoon and, with a steady attack, left Rome Free Academy far behind in a 14-4 rout of the Black Knights. It all started in the second inning, when Liverpool got three runs off RFA pitcher Matt Webster. That began a string of five consecutive innings where the Warriors would get multiple runs — two in the third, then three-run outbursts in the fourth, fifth and sixth to make it 14-3. The 10 hits included Shawn Peake’s home run as he, along with Pat Brown and Alex Caruso, produced two RBIs. Mike Parsons, Tyler Lamb, Corbin Gapski, Rob Broddus and Andrew Schreyack each drove in one run. Given all that run support, pitcher John Folk went five innings to earn the win, keeping RFA in check even though he and his relief replacement, Brown, gave up 11 hits.
