All the preliminaries for the Baldwinsville boys lacrosse team are proceeding along with a minimal amount of stress. Five days after pummeling Christian Brothers Academy for 19 goals in its March 27 opener, the Bees managed to do even better against Onondaga Thursday night, never letting up in a 21-11 romp over the Tigers. The combined total of 40 goals in two games is partly attributed to the fact that B’ville is not heavily relying on the production of one star — Billy Ward — in the way it has in the last couple of seasons. Ward had his usual strong effort, with three goals and three assists, but he had all kinds of help as B’ville steadily worked its way to a 10-3 halftime lead and eventually had four players earn hat tricks. Kyle Styer and Dom Darcangelo stood at the top, each of them with four goals. Casey Colligan matched Ward’s three-goal output. Evan States, off his three-goal, seven-assist CBA outing, cooled off to one goal and one assist, the same total as Niko Manning. Ben Messmer, Tarin Trytek, Joe Morra, Brian Heffernan and Matt Wood also converted, with Justin Marra, Nick Fiorini and Louis Eron earning assists. Everything steps up for B’ville this Friday night when it faces West Genesee, winners of the last eight Section III Class A titles, at Wildcat Stadium in Camillus. WG opened its season with a 16-8 loss to Jamesville-DeWitt, but recovered to beat Carthage 10-4 two nights later. The Bees tune up Tuesday by playing at Central Square.
