The event is sponsored by YWCA Syracuse & Onondaga County and McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Site. There is a 7:30 a.m. registration with a buffet breakfast on Wednesday, April 7 at the Empire Room, 581 State Fair Blvd., Syracuse. The program will start promptly at 8 a.m. The cost is $25.
The profits from this event will go to support the women, girls and families served through YWCA programs such as Girls Incorporated, the Women’s Residence and Out of School Time programs, as well as, The McMahon-Ryan Child Advocacy Site which provides direct support for children who are victims of physical or sexual abuse.
Edelman’s organization has been called “the nation’s strongest voice for children and families.”
The YWCA operates nine Out of School Time sites (5-12 yrs) in three school districts, a Women’s Residence program and Girls Inc. programs featuring a girls-only and an after-school program on Douglas Street, as well as Camp Discovery in the summer, and career conferences: Expanding Your Horizons and Girls Summit.
