The Department of Environmental Conservation will tonight hold an informational meeting and small group discussion to address the draft design for the Sediment Consolidation Area, part of the Onondaga Lake Bottom Remediation project.
The meeting, being held in the Martha Eddy Room of the Art and Home Center of the New York State Fairgrounds, will begin with an open house at 5 p.m. followed by an informational meeting and small group discussion at 6 p.m.
Questions about the plan to dredge the lake bottom and transport sediment to a waste bed in Amboy, then return the water to the lake will be addressed by representatives from the DEC, NYS Department of Health, EPA and Honeywell. The meeting will also cover the draft plans to restore habitats in and around Onondaga Lake.
Draft documents are available to the public online at dec.ny.gov. The meeting is free and open to the public.
