The unseasonable weather earlier this month allowed one young Camillus golfer the chance to sink his first hole-in-one.
John Michael Sullivan, 11, recorded his first ace on Dec. 6 at West Hill Country Club. John Michael began golfing at the age of 5, and has racked up more than 50 birdies. He also took first place in his age group in 2008 and 2009 in the CNY Junior Golf program and finished sixth in his age division in the 2007 national Chip, Putt and Drive competition in 2007, beating out thousands of other young golfers from around the country.
Last summer, John Michael paid his own way to participate in a charity golf tournament organized by St. Joseph’s Church to benefit the Samaritan Center. His team of four finished the 9-hole par 27 course with a score of 24.
