WG swimmers take out Oswego

Moving to 3-0 on the season, the West Genesee boys swim team got more quick times from the likes of Ben Seketa during last Wednesday night’s 100-78 victory over Oswego, the Wildcats’ 14th consecutive meet win.

Seketa started the meet by helping Tyler Olson, Dave Bushnell and Carson Elias take first place in the 200 medley relay in 1:49 flat.

Then, on his own, Seketa claimed a victory in the 200 indivdiual medley (2:03.42) and, in the 500 freestyle, blazed to another win in a time of 4:54.82.

Olson had to wait until the 100 backstroke to earn a title, but he did so in 1:01.37 right before Elias, in the 100 breaststroke, won in 1:03.14.

Pat O’Donnell first covered the 100 butterfly in 56.24 seconds before teaming with Elias, Bushnell and Conner Agen to take the 200 freestyle relay in 1:36.62.

In a terrific diving duel, Josh Byrne, with 214.96 points, held off Oswego’s Brian Semione (212.78 points) for the victory, while the Buccaneers saw Drake Becksted tear through the 100 freestyle in 48.29 seconds after winning the 50 freestyle in 22.33 seconds.
