Having gone through brutal early-season stretches, the Cicero-North Syracuse and Liverpool girls tennis teams both earned wins against CNY Counties League foes.
First, the Northstars went up against Central Square and had full control in a 7-0 shutout of the Red Hawks.
Jessica Geary had a 6-0, 6-0 shutout of Rachel Cary, while Lauren Osada went past Cailey Roberts 6-1, 6-1. Stephanie Fahrbach swept Madison Perkins 6-2, 6-2.
To maintain the doubles sweep, Lindsay Priest and Vannepha Luangpahay needed three sets to beat Alexis Bucher and Mackenzie Ruffels 6-2, 4-6, 6-4. The teams of Meghan Storie-Becca Cain, Alma Pushkar-Kelsey Wilson and Carie Mackenzie-Katie O’Leary all won in two sets.
A day later, Liverpool took its turn and earned its own 7-0 shutout, this one over the Oswego Buccaneers.
In three sets, Lindsey Wallace rallied past Lindsay Rose 3-6, 6-1, 6-3, this after Kristina Monakhova topped Dominique Canale 6-4, 7-5, and Madeline Cass worked her way past Jill Doty 6-1, 6-4.
Marissa Robbins and Kerry McSweeney had the closest doubles match, beating Brennan Banta and Meghan Kelly 6-3, 6-1. Otherwise, the teams of Ashleigh Caruso-Sarah O’Hara, Chloe Lombardo-Mussa Sheikh and Maria Chayban-Melissa Inch lost just six total games in six sets on the court.
