Making it 17 meet wins in a row, the Fayetteville-Manlius girls swim team went to West Genesee Wednesday night and beat the Wildcats 96-88.
As a starting point, the Hornets’ 200 medley relay quartet of Melissa James, Sarah Wells, Alex Murphy and Hadley Cameron-Carter prevailed in a time of 2:00.65.
Later in the meet, Murphy took first in the 50 freestyle (27.76 seconds), while James needed 59.81 seconds to win the 100 freestyle. Hadley Cameron-Carter beat the field in the 100 butterfly (1:07.29) as Amy Bright earned 189.30 points on the diving board.
As for Jamesville-DeWitt, it also improved to 2-0 on the season, going to Fulton and beating the Red Raiders 92-58.
Claiming two of the three relays, the Red Rams saw Kalie Coyne, Bridget O’Grady, Molly Hair and Jillian Rippon win the 200 medley (2:03.46). Hair and O’Grady combined with Emma Pusey and Lauren Crosby to swim the 200 freestyle relay in 1:51.58.
Individually, Hair was first in the 200 individual medley (2:26.53), while Rippon swam the 50 freestyle in 27.18 seconds. Coyne beat the field in the 500 freestyle (5:57.09) and Cara Gannon won the diving event with 167.95 points.
