It took the Liverpool girls volleyball team approximately one game to sort itself out and find a top form. Yet that was long enough for the Warriors to fall behind Utica Proctor in Wednesday night’s 2009 season opener before a comeback produced a four-game win over the Raiders. Proctor pulled out that opening game 26-24, but that only seemed to wake up Liverpool as it took the next two games by equal 25-15 margins, then breezed to a 25-14 win in the fourth game. Emily Dumas, the Warriors’ returning setter, had 20 assists, with Jenna Street getting 16 assists, plus four kills. Together, Dumas and Street aided a balanced front line. Aubrey Barrett had 10 kills, with Tiara Gray putting up eight kills. Dakotah Farrell earned five kills, with Lyteshia Price (four kills) and Anna Daucher (four kills, three blocks) helping, too.
