The annual Towpath Day at Camillus Erie Canal Park will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday Aug. 8.
This year the event will be themed, “A Salute to the Irish,” to honor the contribution Irish immigrants made to building the canal.
Admission, parking and raffles are free and the event is family friendly. Enjoy Irish songs, traditional step dancing performed by Butler-Sheehan School of Irish Dance, hands-on children’s activities, entertainment at Leprachaun Court at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., crafting demonstration and homemade ice cream.
Boat rides will feature an Irish storyteller and a canal cook. The day will also offer wagon rides, a steam engine exhibit and blue grass music and a Civil War re-enactor will be roaming the park.
