Angel Food Ministries is now serving the Jordan-Elbridge area with a new local site at the Jordan-Bramley Library.
The non-profit organization offers mail-order monthly menu selections at a deep discount, for which orders are placed at a local site and filled later in the same month at the same site. Delivering “blessings by the box,” customers bring their own box or bags to pick up their delivery.
Jordan-Bramley Library Director Linda Burns said last week during the Jordan Citizen Review Committee meeting that in the library’s first month as a local site they placed 22 orders and the majority of them were placed by out-of-towners, so the program is not taking business away from local grocers.
Three of those orders were donated directly to a local food pantry, Burns said, and the library receives $1 for each box sold through their site.
The program is open to anyone. Orders are placed and delivered once a month, orders for June must be placed by June 15.
