In Marcellus, kids don’t line the streets with paper bags to collect candy thrown from passing floats. There are no clowns or out-of-town marching bands, and there are certainly no rolling concession stands with cotton candy and plastic toys.
The Marcellus Memorial Day March may not be as “festive” as other parades, but what it lacks in frivolity it makes up for by being one of the few Memorial Day celebrations that highlights the reason for the day from beginning to end.
