Displaying her prime form a week before pursuing a Section III Class B title, Westhill softball pitcher Toni Secreti took charge with a no-hitter in Monday’s 3-0 victory over Jordan-Elbridge.
Winning here required both pitching and patience on the Warriors’ part. Secreti took care of the first half, earning 18 strikeouts while holding the Eagles’ batters without a hit.
As for Westhill, it could not find the board in the first five innings against J-E’s pitcher, Jenn Gasparek, keeping the game 0-0.
However, the Warriors broke through in the bottom of the sixth, Nicole Toth’s two-run triple being the big blow. Andrea Golembiewski also finished with an RBI.
Westhill improved its record to 14-5, while J-E fell to 8-6.
