Patiently, the Skaneateles baseball team waited for the snow and rain to get out of the way so it could get to the business of games that counted.
At last, it dried up, and on Saturday the Lakers celebrated by going to Waterloo and unleashing lots of offense in a 27-3 victory.
As if three-run rallies in the second and third innings weren’t enough, Skaneateles put together a 12-run fourth inning that made it 18-0 and out of hand.
All told, the Lakers had 19 hits. Jon Chapman doubled and drove in four runs, while Jared Armory also had four RBIs. Nick Pesarchick had three RBIs as Zach Augustine, Owen Stokes-Cawley, Jake Carvalho and Phil Weiss each got two RBIs. Jake Rothenburg, Dan Dobrovsky, Jake Bird, Sean Cooney and Paul Hamilton also joined the parade, each driving in one run.
During the week of the April break, the Lakers will play in a tournament in Homer, then go to Port Byron before hosting West Genesee on Saturday afternoon.
